Hops have been used as an important flavour component in beer for centuries and now some hops have decided to jump ship to a higher spirit of independence by going rogue. A new universe of exploration where no hop has gone before.

Rocket Hop™ is pioneering a new frontier and has now been launched.

BACKGROUND

The main principle behind Rocket Hop™ is Jim Brickman, founder of Brick Brewing Company established in 1984. As the first craft brewer in Canada, Brickman is credited with pioneering the popular present-day beer renaissance.

In the late 90’s, Brickman and his Brewmaster, Steven Smith, experimented with a unique process converting a brewed, high alcohol beer base extract, that could then be fortified and aged with pure grain alcohol. In Europe, this would be considered a schnapps. Timing and other priorities sidelined the concept at the time, but in 2020 the idea was revived by an enthusiastic friend and investor who wanted Brickman (then retired) back in the business.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Rocket Hop™ is a unique product that is difficult to define and place into one specific alcohol based category. This makes it an anomaly in its own right, a one of a kind. The process is unique and proprietary. It starts as a highly concentrated beer based formula, which is then infused with the addition of distilled selected aromamatic hops. The product is then fortified with an all-natural grain spirit bringing it up to 40% alc/vol.

The product is aged for 90 days followed by a sophisticated crossflow ceramic filtration process prior to packaging. The colour is clear amber, and can be served at room temperature, chilled or tossed into a cold beer. As would be expected, Rocket Hop™ pairs exceptionally well with any style of beer.
